Our vision

Wire is a powerful symbol. It can be found throughout the streets of Philipstown, sometimes shiny and new, occasionally old and corroded. It comes in copper and silver, in all sizes and shapes. But it is always useful and full of possibility. It can always be transformed into something meaningful and joyful. With a little imagination, some effort and applied human endeavour, it can be turned into a DraadKar/Wire Car, a profound and meaningful symbol of the spirit of Philipstown.

Our mission

By leveraging the goodwill created through the Philipstown draad kar event, and the creation of additional Philipstown WireCar assets; the Philipstown WireCar Grand Prix and the Authentic Philipstown WireCar Company - the PWF strives to contribute to the social and skills upliftment of the children of Philipstown, as our priority. Our secondary, but no less important goal is to influence, support and affect positive change to the broader community who in themselves directly (and indirectly) influences the well-being of those children.

Inspire future dreamers and innovators

Philipstown Wirecar Foundation - logo

"A community is only as strong as the people in it. It's like a piece of cloth. People are so interwoven and if you can mend some of the threads you can create something beautiful."

Your support helps

Every wire car purchased and every donation received directly fuels our mission to uplift the kids and broader community of Philipstown. Funds go towards vital social development programmes, including support for athletic talent, access to activities that celebrate personal expression and cultural heritage and the creation of an e-learning centre. This centre will offer computer literacy training for young people and vocational skills development for adults, opening doors to education, employment and long-term opportunities. Your contribution helps build a stronger, more empowered future for our community.

  • The Wirecar Grand Prix is the main event where wire cars come to life in an exciting annual race, showcasing creativity, craftsmanship, and community spirit.

  • This is where the magic happens. Every wire car is handcrafted by local creators, each one unique and a testament to Philipstown’s rich tradition and innovative spirit.

  • Bringing the excitement of the race into the palm of your hand. It allows players to engage with the Wirecar Grand Prix wherever they are.

SUPPORT OUR BUILDERS & KEEP TRADITION ALIVE
